20.Jul.12 Ryston Runners AC achieve England Athletics Accredited Club Status

Ryston Runners AC have achieved England Athletics Accredited Club Status; James Cudmore, their CCSO, presented the award at a recent training session. The accreditation recognises the welcoming environment that the club offers to new members and the high quality service provided to existing members.

Club Welfare Officer, Martin Ive, led on the process which has enabled the club to review the club’s policies and procedures and identify areas where the club wishes to develop.

James Cudmore commented: ‘the club have shown a real commitment to develop and improve as a club. They offer a high standard of coaching, access to a wide variety of competition and communicate with their members and their families in a way that makes everyone feel welcomed and involved.’

The process has also opened new opportunities for the club, such as extending the number of schools with which they are working.

Martin Ive commented: ‘Achieving Clubmark accreditation has enabled us to forge links with a local school to offer qualified coaching sessions for pupils in school time, which will in turn help to promote the club in the local community and bring in new members, so everybody is a winner.’
