09.Jul.12 Clubmark accreditation for Derwentside AC

Derwentside AC have recently been awarded Clubmark status after having worked towards Clubmark for the last 12 months with Club Chairman Brian Buckley driving change proactively within all areas of the club.

Brian told us, "The Clubmark means a great deal to the club in showing and proving that what we are doing is a great deal of work for the youngsters in our area and what we are doing as coaches is at last delivering good performanaces from our athletes as well as providing a friendly and safe environment for young people to train in.  Personally I am very satisfied with a job well done and in continuing to give our club a good foundation on which to build for the future."

Clubmark is currently acting as the catalyst for the club to recruit more volunteers, coaches and athletes to take part in the sport and ensure they are ready for the upswell of interest with London 2012 just around the corner.

The County Durham Athletics Network member has been rewarded for lots of hard work getting everyone in the club on board with the process and contributing to help move the club forwards.

However, work hasn’t stopped as they are now going through the Whole Club Planning process with local Club and Coach Support Officer (CCSO) John Stacey.
