19.Jun.12 Hands-on EDM training for Berkshire officials

Network Berkshire recently organised three “hands on” EDM training sessions, two at Palmer Park Stadium Reading and one at Bracknell Stadium.

The sessions were held for Officials from Network Clubs who “wanted to gain experience and confidence in using EDM equipment outside of a “live” competition environment” and covered:

  • How to set up and calibrate EDM equipment ready for competition
  • How to measure using EDM equipment
  • How to “build” your Spike
  • Common mistakes and good practice Spiking

EDM spikeIn total fifteen officials attended the sessions, four of whom went on to use the equipment during an NYAL competition three days later and were heard to comment “that’s was easier than I thought” and “EDM, no problem!”

All attendees found the sessions very informative and offered their thanks to the officials (Len Twort and Chris Apsey in Reading and Andy Hughes in Bracknell) who delivered the sessions.
