Over 150 people took part in athletics event over the Jubilee weekend thanks to free sessions at the Bourne Festival.
Lincolnshire Athletics Network offered adults and children the chance to take part in standing long jump, standing triple jump, speed trap, Hurdles and javelin on Saturday 2nd June 2012.
Bourne Festival has invited Lincolnshire Athletics Network to attend for the last three years and it has always been a huge success.
The aim of the event, supported by Bourne Athletics Club was to increase participation in athletics in the local area.
Rachel Belcher the Athletics Coordinator at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, said: "The whole day was fantastic. It was a real family occasion which was excellent to see. All the events went down very well; especially the throws and the hurdles."
She continued, "A massive thank you goes to Bourne and District Round Table for inviting us to the event and Bourne Town Harriers for providing the volunteers who all did a fantastic job getting people involved."
Lisa Richardson who is Bourne Town Harriers representative on the Lincolnshire Athletics Network said: "We have both club and members of the public taking part. We wanted to give people an experience of Athletics. When you see someone else having a go they think “I can do that.” You don’t need any special skills to take up athletics."
