On Saturday 21st April, the Aviva UK Sportshall Final took place at LG Arena, NEC, Birmingham.  After attending trials between October and January organised by the North Yorkshire Athletics Network to be part of the North Yorkshire team, the Under 15 boys went on to win the regional finals and secured their place in the UK finals. 
 
The doors opened at 12 noon, with an opening ceremony taking place at 1.30pm and the competition commencing at 2pm. The North Yorkshire team was:

• Benedict Millson (Scarborough)
• Rob Shipley (Selby)
• Tom Everitt (City of York)
• Jared Baldwin, Joe Wittington, Ali Rodgers (all Harrogate)

The Team competed extremely well, with Benedict Millson winning the Individual title for Under 15 boys.
 
The team won the UK finals with an amazing score of 1129; they were 9 points ahead of Surrey in second place and 15 points ahead of Cardiff & Vale Glamorgan.
 
The North Yorkshire Athletics Network would like to congratulate all of the boys for their outstanding performances.  The network are currently organising the dates for next year's trials, and we hope 2013 will be as successful!
