06.Apr.12 North Yorkshire Athletics Network welcomes 3 Mentors

North Yorkshire Athletics Network NYANThe North Yorkshire Athletics Network is pleased to announce that Sue Lawal, Karen Buck & Paul Wilson are mentors within the network. As part of the year 2 plan, the network has looked to source coaches in North Yorkshire who would be willing to mentor other coaches across the county, to support their aim of developing an athletics infrastructure in North Yorkshire.

Sue Lawal, Yorkshire & Humberside Development Coach of the year 2011, is currently mentoring all track & field club coaches across the county in Athletics 365.  Sue is currently meeting clubs on an individual basis to provide information on what Athletics 365 is, and support each club in implementing it within their club, and their own pace.  Sue has also provided high jump mentoring to coaches in the county, to upskill coaches’ knowledge and provide a refresher on high jump coaching.  Sue's schedule is very busy, and the network is lucky and grateful to have access to her when she is available.

Karen Buck is currently mentoring certain clubs on sprinting after clubs have requested support from Karen herself.  The topics are always discussed prior to the club visit, to enable coaches are receiving information on a particular area.  Karen is on the National Coach Development Programme where she mentors one coach and has space to mentor one additional coach.  Like Sue, Karen has various commitments and the network appreciates Karen being willing to mentor additional coaches to the ones she currently supports.

Paul Wilson is the third coach mentor for the network, who will be covering throws.  Like Karen, Paul was sourced by clubs themselves to support their individual coaches in developing.  Paul has delivered specific areas when visiting club coaches, so that the mentoring given is on an individualistic basis and will support the development of coaches.  Paul is also on the National Coach Development Programme where he mentors 2 coaches.   The network would like to thank Paul for committing to being a network mentor!
