31.Oct.12 Introductions to Ambulant Running, Jumping and Throwing for coaches
Two Disability Local Coach Development Programme (LCDP) Workshops will be held in the South in the next few months.
They are An Introduction to Ambulant Running and Jumping, and An Introduction to Ambulant and Seated Throws. Experienced disability athletics coaches Hayley Ginn, Cathy Walker, Alison O’Riordan and Bronwin Carter will be running the workshops.
An Introduction to Ambulant Running and Jumping: Sunday 9th December
This introductory workshop will give coaches an understanding of the classifications relevant to ambulant running and jumping and the relevant basic technical model for each. It will use practical demonstrations and video to explore specific strategies and techniques appropriate for coaching ambulant running and jumping, particularly relating to body position and relationship to function. The workshop will also outline the sport specific rules associated with ambulant running and jumping and impairment specific considerations. Click here for more information and an application form

The workshop will also outline the sport specific rules associated with ambulant and seated throwing and give coaches an understanding of the basic design features of throwing frames and impairment specific considerations.
