21.Sep.12 Free wheelchair Racing Introduction Workshop

A free wheelchair Racing Introduction Workshop will be held at the University of Warwick on Sunday 28th October 2012.  The workshop will provide an introduction to the equipment, techniques and classifications used in wheelchair racing.  Promoted by the University of Warwick WCR Academy, this free workshop is for coaches and new athletes wanting to learn about wheelchair racing – ideal for coaches wishing to progress onto the new UKA Wheelchair Racing Module, now available online.  The organisers would recommend that coaches attend the practical sessions in the morning.

Chairs will be available for new athletes interested in trying wheelchair racing for the first time, and opportunity to meet athletes already training regularly. Information will be provided on where and how to get involved further in the sport – with an array of competitions and races available on the track, road and overseas. Athletes will need to pay the £1.45 or £2.50 track fee.
