The next generation of disabled athletes were put through their paces in five sports at a talent-spotting day in Leeds. 58 pupils from schools across West Yorkshire gathered for the third County Athlete Assessment Day at John Charles Centre for Sport.

Bradford McCain Athletics Network held an athletics 365 workshop at Beckfoot School, home of Bingley Harriers. The workshop introduced the new athletics 365 programme developed by England Athletics, seen as the future of developing young athletes across the whole spectrum of athletics.

The North Yorkshire McCain Athletics Network in conjunction with Sweatshop held an evening with Sharon Gayter to allow runners and coaches to come and listen to Sharon speak about her career.

On the 28th April Les Duggan delivered a workshop on Presentation & Facilitation targeting coaches that are on the National Coach Development Programme and the wider network coaches.

10.May.11 University students organise official Keighley opening
Saturday 14th May sees the official opening of the athletics track and associated sports facilities at the newly-built University Academy Keighley. The day has been organised by students from Leeds Carnegie University as part of their Sports Business and Sports Development degree course.
