A total of 17 coaches and athletes from Stainland Lions, Halifax Harriers, Todmorden Harriers and Calder Valley Fell Runners took part in the Calderdale Athletics Network Fellrunning Navigation Training Workshop on a cold day high up in the Pennines.

The Calderdale Athletics Network delivered a Nutrition workshop to 22 coaches and athletes at Spring Hall Track in Halifax. The workshop was delivered by Lauren Jeska, who is the current English Ladies fell running champion and ranked 2nd in mountain running in Europe.

England Athletics National Coach Development mentee Rick Betts has been nominated for the prestigious BBC Sports personality of the year Unsung Hero award. He is presently awaiting the results of the regional BBC North East Award where he has reached the final 3.

Road running coaches from the Humberside area have benefitted from boosting their Strength and Conditioning coaching skills through a session with English Institute of Sport practitioner David Parker. And they are now putting their skills into action with their training groups.

The 20th November saw 40 coaches from across the Yorkshire and Humberside regions descend on Leeds Met Carnegie for the second in a series of coach development workshops aimed at upskilling endurance coaches across the region on injury prevention and strength and conditioning.
