  • 20.Jul.11 Manchester team for UK School Games announced

    The Manchester team for the UK School Games has been announced.  Team Manager Graham Pilkington with help from Keith Hunter have put this team together for the UK School Games which will take place from 1-4 September in Sheffield. The team is made up of athletes from the North West, Stafford and Shropshire.

    Manchester McCain Athletics Network part-funded the project to take coaching into the schools to build entries into 2010 Street Athletics.  Street Athletics breaks down the significant barriers which prevent youngsters from believing in their own talents and realise ambition.

    09.May.11 2nd North West T & F Championships

    The 2nd North West Championships for Seniors & U20s (U17s allowed) will take place on Sunday 12th June at Longford Park, Stretford.  This year, U17s will be allowed to compete in the U20 Age Group. and in addition, fully electronic timing and EDM will be used.

  • Cheshire Athletics Network

    14.Mar.11 Cheshire network hosting 3 coach and athlete develpment events

    Cheshire McCain Athletics Network are running three coach and athlete development events in the North West. Sessions will cover off-road, endurance, discus, hammer, sprints, long jump, pole vault, pilates, conditioning, nutrition and biomechanics.

    The North West combined events coach and athlete development sessions are running over the winter to allow athletes to have a go at new events, develop skills in existing events and enable coaches to share ideas and learn from each other in a safe, relaxed environment.

  • 11.Feb.11 First IOM Sportshall team hold their own

    A team of 15 boys and 15 girls from schools and athletics clubs across the Isle of Man came together to do the Island proud against the best athletes in the northwest counties of England in the U11s Northwest Regional ‘Fun in Athletics’ Final.
