Thorney Running Club have been developing their junior and female membership. A number of members with youngsters that are or aspire to be active members started a regular Monday evening session in Thorney to support those unable to get to Whittlesey.

10.Sep.09 A great team performance from East team at UKSG
The East region team finished fourth overall at the UKSG in Cardiff – collectively a great team performance. A total of 15 medals were won and the team were just 10 points behind the winners.

Winter training sessions will be held at Lee Valley Athletics Centre
for all one-lap (300m and 400m) hurdles under the guidance of Lloyd Cowan and
Brian Hopkins, and various guest coaches. -
27.Jul.09 Street Athletics comes to Clacton on Sea
The Street Athletics team recently ran a series of sprint races in Clacton on Sea in Essex. The presence of former Olympians Linford Christie and Tim Benjamin, made for a very exciting event which was attended by over 100 athletes from schools in the surrounding area and athletics clubs in Colchester.

Coaches of athletes with a disability took part in the first of this years’ Hertfordshire County Athletics Network coach development events last week.

16.Jun.09 Bourn to Run 10k launched
The Bourn 10k is making its first appearance and the project group are aiming for over 500 runners with all profits going towards saving the primary school outdoor swimming pool.
