    England Athletics has recently launched a new national strategy that aims to build a lasting legacy for the sport from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. To help facilitate this, East Region Council has organised an open consultation meeting that will enable attendees to highlight key priorities for the East Region and help to identify possible solutions.

    Two club stalwarts were recognised at their club last week with Jessica Barber and Beth Harris receiving volunteer awards from England Athletics East Region Council.

    Cambridge and Coleridge Athletics Club gained two awards in the East Regional awards recently.  A long standing member won Services to Officiating, and the club itself won the Club - Community Partnership award.

  • Thorney Running Club

    16.Sep.09 Thorney Running Club make a difference locally

    Thorney Running Club have been developing their junior and female membership.  A number of members with youngsters that are or aspire to be active members started a regular Monday evening session in Thorney to support those unable to get to Whittlesey.

  • 2009 UKSG East sprint

    10.Sep.09 A great team performance from East team at UKSG

    The East region team finished fourth overall at the UKSG in Cardiff – collectively a great team performance. A total of 15 medals were won and the team were just 10 points behind the winners.

  • 08.Sep.09 Hurdles coaching at Lee Valley

    Winter training sessions will be held at Lee Valley Athletics Centre
    for all one-lap (300m and 400m) hurdles under the guidance of Lloyd Cowan and
    Brian Hopkins, and various guest coaches.
