    26.Apr.12 Wombwell Sporting AC countdown to London 2012 with club accredition

    Wombwell Sporting AC was one of 190 clubs to host a 100 Days to Go event.  The come and try session was delivered by Wombwell coaches and was aimed at bringing new athletes into the club.

    24.Apr.12 North Yorkshire Under 15 Boys win National Sportshall Final

    After attending trials between October and January organised by the North Yorkshire Athletics Network to be part of the North Yorkshire team, the Under 15 boys went on to win the regional finals and secured their place in the UK Sportshall finals held on Saturday at the NEC.

    Bingley Harriers held their first outdoor training session at Beckfoot School following on from the indoor winter sessions. The training was advertised as the England Athletics ‘Try Athletics Day’ and the club welcomed some new attendees wanting to try athletics.

    Sheffield’s EIS will see sports scientist Professor Steve Haake host an interactive and thought-provoking evening, featuring live athletics demonstrations about the research that lies behind the performance of elite athletes. Team GB legend Roger Black, physiology expert Professor Chris Cooper and training technologies specialist Dr Rob Harle will be on the discussion panel.
