On Friday 27th January 2012 thirteen Junior Ilkley Harriers attended the club's annual presentation evening to receive their Level 2 Sports leadership Award certificates following Ilkley Harriers' Volunteer training programme.

Coaches on the National Coach Development Programme will lead sessions and pass on tips and advice which aim to help coaches get the best out of their athletes in performing horizontal jumps.

The North Yorkshire Athletics Network is hosting a free pole vault and hurdles flying coach session. The sessions will be an introduction to these technical events.

10.Jan.12 Arctic conditions for Yorkshire XC Championships
The Yorkshire County AA Cross Country Championships took place on 7th January at Thornes Park, Wakefield. The competition was fierce and there were some very close finishes, the athletes were well supported with plenty of spectators.

09.Jan.12 Successful "I Can... Run York" Launch
On Wednesday 4th of January 2012, the I Can... Run York programme was launched. The evening was supported by the North Yorksire Athletics Network, with a couple of network representatives taking the lead on this specific pilot.

04.Jan.12 Scholarship awarded to talented young Leeds athlete
A sporting scholarship to honour one of athletics’ best-known coaches has been awarded to a promising young Yorkshire athlete. The Wilf Paish Athletics Scholarship has been given to 16-year-old Leeds 800m runner Jordan Bransberg.
