  • London volunteers receive awards

    15.Dec.11 Voluntary effort recognised at the 2011 EA South West Awards

    Enthusiasts from around the region assembled in Exeter recently for the 2011 England Athletics South West Award.  Nigel Rowe, the Chairman of the South West Council made the presentations to the following recipients who have all worked very hard to make a positive difference

    10.Nov.11 Plymouth schools athletes benefit from unique partnership working

    For a number of years the primary schools of Plymouth have taken part in a series of Sportshall athletics events,  and the Armada Athletics Network has been involved in assisting with the organisation by providing officiating training for leaders.

  • 13.Sep.11 South West to host their first traffic management course

    The South West region are hosting their first traffic management course for Road Running and XC officials on 26th November in Exeter.  The course is being heavily subsidised by England Athletics to assist Road Running organisers with the implementation of Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders.

  • 05.Sep.11 Inter-club co-operation leads to Team Avon promotion

    At the end of its first season, the Team Avon NJAL U20 Composite team, based in and supported by the Avon Athletics Network, has gained promotion to the Midlands Premier NJAL, having previously won the Avon Division!

    Athletics benefits from the tremendous efforts and expertise of a dedicated team of volunteers. And we at England Athletics want to ensure that we, and the sport as a whole gives them the recognition they deserve! So whether it is your coach, your club, an official or another volunteer make sure that you nominate them for one of our awards!

  • 23.Jun.11 SW Inter-Counties 2011

    The South West region inter-Counties track and field championships will be taking place on Sunday 17th July in Exeter.  A full programme is offered for age groups U13 through to Senior competitors and Team managers are requested to submit teams by Sunday 3th July at the latest.
