    05.Oct.10 South West Cross Country fixtures

    Cross-country events cater for everyone, from 11 (often younger) to over 70. Courses can be described as ‘multi-terrain without the concrete’, and vary widely from fast and grassy to stiff tests of endurance and sanity!  South West region has announced its cross country fixtures for the season.

    04.Oct.10 Hayle Runners inclusive training leads to blind athlete competing

    Last year, John Allnutt - a blind athlete - approached Hayle Runners for training advice and support. The club were concerned about not having any experience of working with visually impaired or blind athletes, and so took advice.  Things have progressed really well and John is now a regular member of the club.

    Tim Snowdon is holding a workshop where he will highlight some ideas on Nutrition Balance, and how effective nutrition can improve recovery after training and also help to reduce injury and illness.

    South West region are pleased to announce a day of practical coaching workshops  covering a choice of both technical and development areas – open to coaches at any level or experience and from any part of the country.

    Somerset Athletics Network hosted its first Runners' Fayre in Taunton at the weekend. Running enthusiasts from a number of local clubs were treated to a choice of morning and afternoon workshops which covered a range of running subjects.

  • 10.Sep.10 Team Bristol proudly take team silver at UK School Games

    Team Bristol (representing the South West) proudly took silver at the UK School Games in Gateshead.  Team Bristol Athletes come from the 11 counties of Avon, Cornwall, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Devon , Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset, Sussex, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
