  • 31.Jul.11 England athletes in action in Berlin

    As part of England Athletics drive to develop and  support endurance running, a number of athletes were funded at this weekend’s 10k in Berlin, Martin Rush (National Coach Mentor for Endurance) reports. Nick Torry was first Englishman home with a strong 3rd place finish on a wet and windy night in Berlin. Holly Rush finished second to former London Marathon winner Irina Mikitenko in the women's event.

    29.Jul.11 Fast and Furious 5k

    Kidderminster and Stourport Athletics Club have successfully launched their Fast and Furious 5k Road Race Series. The club has developed the summer race series in response to the lack of competitive opportunities over 5k within the county of Worcestershire.

  • 28.Jul.11 Andi Jones achieves historic fifth win

    The 2011 International Snowdon Race / Ras-yr-Wyddfa produced one of the closest finishes in the race's history yesterday, as England's Andi Jones took his fifth title on the famous mountain at Llanberis, whilst England's Pippa Maddams took first for the women.

  • 27.Jul.11 Bristol Half Marathon - additional discount for club members

    In a move to encourage more affiliated clubs to take part in the 2011 Bristol half marathon, race organisers are offering a special rate of £20 to club runners who will be “race fit” on 11 September. The race which is the UK Championship also has places available for elite British male and female athletes.

    England Athletics is very pleased to announce details of its three major coaching conferences for 2011. Marking “300 days to go” until the start of London 2012, the conferences will aim to inspire coaches at a local level to develop the next generation of Olympic & Paralympic hopefuls.
