    30.Sep.10 Lisa Keeps on Walking Along

    31 years after she won her first national title and two decades on from when she took home a bronze medal from her Commonwealth Games debut in New Zealand, the splendidly resilient 43 year old West Midlands athlete Lisa Kehler (nee Langford) will compete in her fifth Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

    All roads lead to Birmingham on October 30th for the England Athletics Hall of Fame and Volunteer Awards evening to celebrate the achievements and honour the hard work and commitment of all those who make our sport so great – and that includes the pioneers who have made the Run in England project such a brilliant success.

    South West region are pleased to announce a day of practical coaching workshops  covering a choice of both technical and development areas – open to coaches at any level or experience and from any part of the country.

    Cheshire Athletics Network hosted their first event of many as a network last week, which involved 40 members of various clubs.  The aim of the event was not only to officially launch the network but to make members of the clubs involved aware of how they could benefit from the partnership work which will be taking place.

    The Cheshire McCain Athletics Network is holding a coach and athlete development day for for all coaches and athletes wishing to learn new skills to improve on existing knowledge within the events of Pole Vault, Hammer, Discus and Endurance.  It will also cover how non-traditional athletics activities can support and develop athletes.

    24.Sep.10 Londoners respond to the Run in England call

    An appeal for more volunteers to become Run in England leaders in London has met with a fantastic response.   Within a week of alerting the capital that there were subsidised leadership training courses on offer, 10 new people signed up to the project.
