  • 16.Apr.10 Leicestershire Road Runners learn a lot

    Two recent workshops in the East Midlands brought almost 50 road running coaches and athletes together to learn more about Tapering for the Half Marathon (delivered by Keith Holt) and Physical Preparation (from Pete McKnight).

    In conjunction with the UKA training camp, National Coach Mentors for Endurance Dave Sunderland, Jenny Harris and Bud Baldero are to lead a group of nine of the endurance mentees from the National Coach Development Programme on a fact finding trip to altitude.

  • 14.Apr.10 NCDP Race Walk Coaches weekend

    A successful weekend of coach development and race-walk activities took place in the National Race Walk Centre based at Leeds Metropolitan University.  7 coaches from the NCDP contributed to a weekend of coaching discussion and input to share and progress their own knowledge and to contribute ideas and resources to UKA and England Athletics development projects.

    14.Apr.10 LCDP in Midlands proves popular

    A number of Coach Development activities have been funded and delivered by England Athletics across the region throughout the winter.  Based around the needs of local coaches identified through ongoing support offered by the CCSOs, over 80 coaches have directly benefitted.

    12.Apr.10 Local Coach Development Programme launched in the North East

    Over 20 Coaches attended the launch of the Local Coach Development Programme at Gateshead International stadium to see the start of a programme of ongoing coaching support in the North East that will include workshops, flying coach visits, 1:1 coach support, mentoring and conferences all driven locally by the needs of the coaches.
