    Manchester McCain Athletics Network were ever present across Manchester’s biggest sporting weekend - Bupa Mini Junior, Manchester Great Run and Great City Games.  Club volunteers took on various roles:  participants, marshals, officials, volunteers you name it, they did it.

    27.May.11 Isle of Wight hosts NatWest Island Games 2011

    The clock is ticking for a major event in Britain this summer.  The Island of Wight plays host to the Nat West Island Games from 25th June to 1st July.  Athletics is a premier event in a programme of 14 sports competitions, involving 4000 participants from 25 islands around the world.

    The Greater Peterborough McCain Athletics Network ran an Athletics 365 workshop to prepare for an upcoming QuadKids competition series being run locally.

    06.May.11 Going for Gold in the Olympic Year with Gold Challenge!

    Take on as many Olympic and Paralympic sports as you can by the end of 2012 and help to raise money for grassroots athletics via StreetGames!  Participants can take part in 5, 10, 20 or 30 sport challenges – in the case of Athletics, participants can take part in a local endurance or track and field team challenge. 

  • 04.May.11 Essex celebrates 500 days to the Paralympics

    An all Ability Athletics and Boccia Challenge Cup celebrated 500 days to the Paralympics - a fantastic competition for people with a disability, took place in Harlow on Saturday 16th April with over 50 participants from all over Essex taking part in 60m, 100m and 200m races, javelin, long jump, shot and distance club.
