    Sharron Rooney may have hung up her running shoes, but her love of the sport means that she continues to create opportunities for others to run, in her home borough of Walthamstow, NE London. Sharron Rooney is a lady who likes a challenge! To date, she has  completed an impressive 12 marathons and over 70 half marathons, not to mention innumerable 5 and 10Ks.

    14.Jun.13 John Powell has been awarded the MBE for services to Athletics.

    The former England coach who trained athletes to reach 2 Olympic Games and innumerable World and European Championships, saw another accolade land on his door mat on 10th May 2013.

    England Athletics is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Howells as the new Club & Coach Support Officer for North London. The former Loughborough student has a good understanding of National governing bodies after joining from British Gymnastics.

    06.Jun.13 Highgate Harriers Open 10k's Night of PB's, Parliament Hill

    6th June - Highgate Harriers held the 'Open 10k night of PB's at Parliament Hill. Dave Bedford, on crutches from a recent operation, was there, all through the races and gave out the prizes. One must add that was emotive as the local Shaftesbury Harrier, had set a World record of 27:30.8 at Crystal Palace, forty years ago next month.
