One of Yeovil’s stand-out young people has been recognised at the Young Achievers Awards event at the House of Commons. Yeovil’s Tom Minchington, 18, is a winner in the sports category of the Young Achievers Awards, which recognise inspirational young people who have made outstanding contributions in volunteering.

27.Mar.12 British Deaf Athletics World Championships Trials
The closing date for entries to the GB Trials is soon. The trials will determine entries for the Great Britain team for the 2nd World Deaf Athletics Championships which will be held in Toronto, Canada 14-21 July 2012.
Athletes performing well at these championships in Toronto are automatically guaranteed places at the 2013 Deaflympic Games. -
27.Mar.12 Yeovil Olympiads to compete in Olympic stadium
Six disabled athletes have been selected to take part in the School Games 2012 which will be held in the same London venues as this year's Olympic Games.

15.Mar.12 Final Aviva Parallel Success Talent Introduction Day hailed a success
On Saturday 10 March the final in the series of Aviva Parallel Success Athlete and Coach Talent Introduction Days took place in the South. The event was held at Chelmsford Sport and Athletics Centre and was organised by England Athletics in partnership with UKA.

11.Mar.12 Entries open for DSE Midland Disability Athletics Championships
The DSE Midland Disability Athletics Championships will take place on Wednesday 25th April 2012 at the Saffron Lane Athletics Stadium in Leicester. The championships are open to athletes of all abilities and impairment groups.

Promoted by the Leicestershire Disability Athletics Group, a free workshop and training day is taking place on 11th March in Leicester. Coaches, teachers and athletes interested in athletics are welcome.
