Up to 200 participants took part in the inaugural Credit Suisse Beckton Park Challenge, which helped raise awareness of, and improve access to, sporting activities in East London therefore capitalising on and creating a legacy to the London 2012 Games. The community spirited running event took place in Beckton District Park South in Newham on Sunday, September 18, 2011.

The Lewisham sports small grant scheme is available to help individuals and sports clubs within Lewisham to grow, sustain, excel and develop skills. Run! Activator Lisa Miller was successful in obtaining a bursary for 15 coaches to attain their Leaders, Coach and Official qualifications.
