  • 25.Oct.10 Network launch raises the bar

    The Leicestershire Vision 2020 McCain Athletics Network, a group of local athletic and running clubs from across the county, officially launched the organisation over the weekend with a series of quality, short and furiously fast cross country races held at the Bosworth Battlefield Centre which will be the site of the 2011 County Cross Country Championships.

  • 20.Oct.10 David Hemery to lead mentoring workshop

    David Hemery, former Olympic Gold Medalist, will be leading a workshop on Mentoring Athletics Coaches, on the evening of 8th December in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

  • 18.Oct.10 Leics Networks' first collaborative event a great success

    The two McCain Athletics Networks in Leicestershire have worked together to set up the first Leicestershire & Rutland County Association Sportshall League. The Leicester City Network and the Leicestershire County Network held the first of three Sportshall League matches on 9th October.

    12.Oct.10 Get Fit for Christmas with Run in England

    Local running clubs in the East Midlands, and Active Together have teamed up with our sister organisation Run in England to encourage local people to start exercising and getting fit in the lead up to Christmas.

  • 07.Oct.10 Run in England showcased in local government document

    A booklet entitled "The case for Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland" has been produced by Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport, in partnership with District and City Councils and the NHS.  It showcases the work done by Wreake Runners and Run in England in the region.

  • 06.Oct.10 First Derbyshire Network Training Day overwhelming success!

    On Sunday 3rd October the Derbyshire Athletics Network held their first of three Coach and Athlete Training Days.  The day was an huge success with almost 40 coaches and over 50 athletes attending from all across the Derbyshire Network.
