The world marathon challenge came to North London with the event being at Lee Valley for the 5th year. The challenging simultaneous relay race in support of Save the Children, is for 11-13 year olds who will race around a track in teams of 31. Each child will run a 200m stretch six or seven times each, passing a baton to their team-mates.
This time last month, children around the world were partaking in a "simultaneous Marathon" where they ran a continuous relay trying to beat the current world record marathon times. Save The Children have now produced a short video of over 1000 children in 40 teams across the world taking part.
