    With less than four years until the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games, we are set with a unique opportunity and challenge to seize the moment and develop a lasting legacy for the sport in England. This work will focus particularly on supporting and developing a network of effective and resourceful coaches, clubs and volunteers.  We are now seeking a high quality Club & Coach Support Officer for the South Yorkshire and Humberside area  to help us turn the vision into reality.

    It’s that time of year again to pay tribute to the champions of local sport - nominations for the 2009 Oxfordshire Sports Awards are now open.  Get behind the sporting stars in Oxfordshire who have excelled on the local, national or international stage over the past year.

  • 27.Jul.09 McCain Roadshow hits Brighton

    Despite wet and windy weather, over 800 people enjoyed the McCain's Roadshow on Brighton seafront recently.  On hand were athlete celebrities Olympic 400 metre hurdler Sally Gunnell, National wheelchair champion at 6 distances Brian Alldiss, young javelin star Matti Mortimore, and Paralympian gold medallist Danny Crates.

  • Maidenhead clubhouse

    22.Jul.09 New environmentally friendly clubhouse for Maidenhead Athletics Club

    Christine Benning, our Club and Coach Support Officer for Berkshire, and 1984 Olympics finalist, cut the ribbon to officially open the Maidenhead Athletic Club (MAC) clubhouse at the new Braywick Park pavilion.

  • 21.Jul.09 Colin Gostelow - the world of athletics loses one of its stars

    Colin Gostelow, who died on July 1st 2009 aged just 66, was known to many in the word of athletics.  He tirelessly worked at local club level with Fleet & Crookham AC in Hampshire but also was key in the higher level of athletics at the South East Athletics Association, BARR and The London Marathon.
