  • Sussex hosts County Endurance Training Day

    23.Dec.09 Sussex hosts County Endurance Training Day

    Sussex hosted a popular Endurance Training Day at Ardingly College recently.  Despite the wintry conditions the event attracted over 30 coaches from Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire, including 6 coaches from the Local Coach Development Programme and 5 coaches on the Area Coach Development Programme.

  • 18.Dec.09 Local Coach Development Programme – Cambridge event weather warning

    A Local Coach Development Programme event for Hammer is planned for Wilberforce Road, Cambridge, for Sunday 20 December. In light of current weather conditions and forecasts a decision will be taken on Saturday as to whether this event can proceed.

  • 17.Dec.09 Amy Frith joins South team as new CCSO

    We are delighted to announce that Amy Frith has been appointed as the new Club and Coach Support Officer for Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Amy will join as a new member of the South team following Scott Grace’s internal appointment as a National Coach Mentor.

    The arrival of Havant Athletic Club at Cowplain Community School will help develop opportunities for athletes in the run up to London 2012.

  • 09.Dec.09 Andy Glover

    It was with great sadness that England Athletics learned of the death of Andy Glover. Andy was a member of Croydon Harriers and made a huge contribution to the sport of athletics. He was an England Athletics London Region Councillor, served as President of Surrey County AA, was a coach, and was an international starter who also helped out at a huge number of matches of all levels. He was officials’ secretary for the Surrey Schools Athletics Association and the UK Women's League. Andy was also involved in training and mentoring many officials.

  • 08.Dec.09 Kent Endurance Development Day inspires Coaches and Athletes

    The second Kent Coach and Athlete Development Day attracted nearly 60 endurance athletes and coaches.  Following its success, further Kent Coach and Athlete Development Days are planned for February and March 2010.
