Regional teams from all over the country went to London to take part in the London Mini Marathon along side the main marathon event. It was an amazing event and all the athletes performed well over the 3 mile course.

The Hall of Fame is to honour those people who have made an outstanding contribution to the sport of athletics. The South West recently held their regional awards ceremony to honour a number of athletes, coaches, officials, clubs and volunteers.

22.Apr.09 England Athletics (Midlands & South West) - Midland Counties AA – Summer Sprint Series
After the success of the 2008 Summer Sprint Series held with MCAA and the East Midlands and West Midlands Regions, it is the intention to run the series again this year with the involvement of the South West Region. The Sprint Series consists of 100m, 200m and 400m races for senior men and women.

10.Apr.09 Tipton Harriers Regain the Midland 12 Stage Road Relay Title
After five barren years without a victory in this event, Tipton Harriers, who are without question the most successful club in the 33 year history of the Saucony Midland Men’s 12 Stage Road Relay in Sutton Park, recorded their 16th victory since 1977.
Another great club who were once proudly proclaimed throughout the land as the
“Kings of the Road” Coventry Godiva Harriers gave another indication of their aspiration to return to the heady days when they achieved their first appearance on the medal podium for some years taking the silver medals by half a minute from the champions for the past couple of years, Notts AC. -
10.Apr.09 Charnwood AC Break Midland Women’s 6 Stage Road Record
Charnwood AC retained their Midland Women’s Saucony Six Stage Road Relay title at a canter in Sutton Park to extend their winning sequence of victories in this popular event to four after completing their hat trick a year ago. A fortnight after wining the British Masters Cross Country crown, the former UK steeplechase record holder Tara Krzywicki clocked the second fastest time of the day (16:28) to round off a record breaking performance by Charnwood AC.
