  • 30.May.12 Basingstoke hosts top athletics event thanks to track extension

    Down Grange track in Basingstoke hosted its first BAL competition marking the completion of work to enhance the outdoor sports complex.  For the first time since the athletics track was extended from six lanes to eight, athletes from Basingstoke and Mid Hants AC were able to compete in the national league event on home soil.

    Lincolnshire Elite Athlete Programme (LEAP) athlete Lee Cupit won a gold medal at the Olympic Park Stadium in London this month.  Lee, 16, from Scopwick, near Lincoln, took part in the Sainsbury’s School Games 2012 from the 6th - 9th May

  • 28.May.12 Enfield & Herne Hill gets off to a good start in tough division

    The weekend saw the start of British athletics league competition. All divisions outside of the premiership were in action . National one had its first fixture at Lee Valley Athletic centre with some of London’s top clubs taking 6 of the 8 places in the division. The clubs comprised of; Enfield & Haringey (home team), Herne Hill, Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow, Belgrave, Harrow and Thames Valley Harriers.
