Brunel University will be hosting a Coach and Athlete Talent Introduction Day on 8th May for clubs and coaches interested in developing their knowledge of coaching athletes with a learning disability, and for athletes with a learning disability identified through the national Playground to Podium framework.

In a follow up to the very successful regional endurance event held in late November, last week over 25 coaches and athletes from the County Durham Athletics Network were treated to a session around physical preparation and conditioning related to endurance athletes by Julie Twaddle.

Cheshire McCain Athletics Network are running three coach and athlete development events in the North West. Sessions will cover off-road, endurance, discus, hammer, sprints, long jump, pole vault, pilates, conditioning, nutrition and biomechanics.

Coaches from the Duchy McCain Athletics Network and non-Network clubs in Cornwall were given the chance to do some networking whilst enjoying a free breakfast early on Saturday morning in a convivial location at a west of Cornwall pub.

The 2010/11 local coach development programme in the West Midlands has seen 70 coaches so far attend coach development days in long/triple jump, shot/ discus, javelin and endurance to develop their skills and knowledge. There are still 2 to go if you've missed out!
