2012 has been a very special year, with Olympic memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. For the spectators watching, they just saw the athletes performing..... but those involved in coaching, officiating and administering know that it takes a whole team of people, mainly working quietly behind the scenes, to ensure that an athlete reaches their potential.

20.Nov.12 South of England Athletics Officials' Association AGM: this Sunday
The South of England Athletics Officials' Association (SEAOA) will be holding its' annual AGM in Eton this Sunday. The Association are keen to make some changes to their constitution, which will give more flexibility as regards the date of the AGM, so a quorum this time is vital.

19.Nov.12 Volunteers and Olympians celebrated at Kent CAA President’s Dinner
Two Olympians were recently honoured at Kent County Athletics Association's very own awards evening - the first President’s Award dinner. Several Olympic Officials together with Gamesmakers and London Ambassadors and many of Kent County’s Volunteers joined Jack Green, Adam Gemili at the celebratory evening.

09.Nov.12 Kent Athletics Olympic officials leave lasting legacy
Over 30 new athletics officials benefited from attending a Level 2 qualification course led by a team of UK Athletics tutors who had a very busy summer contributing their time and expertise to the Olympics and Paralympics success story.

England Athletics are pleased to announce the South East Regional winners of the England Athletics Volunteer Awards 2012. The winners will be presented with their awards at a special evening in December.

02.Oct.12 Workshop: design a seated throwing frame
A free informal workshop on how to design a throwing frame for seated throwers will be held at Lee Valley and will provide an understanding of the IPC Athletics rules around frame design and will give athletes and coaches the opportunity to discuss the functional requirements for individual frame design.
