An Athletics-specific safeguarding training workshop will be held on 6th March in Guildford. It is targeted specifically at volunteers in a club welfare role. It builds on basic awareness and focuses on implementation in the club environment.

Sport England has invited all Olympic and Paralympic medal winners to nominate the community club where they discovered their love of sport and on the vital part the club played in the athlete’s journey to London 2012. Greg Rutherford's is the first club to have been congratulated.

06.Dec.12 South East behind the scenes volunteers recognised
2012 has been a very special year, with Olympic memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. For the spectators watching, they just saw the athletes performing..... but those involved in coaching, officiating and administering know that it takes a whole team of people, mainly working quietly behind the scenes, to ensure that an athlete reaches their potential.

26.Nov.12 Under 11 Decathlon competitive but friendly
86 young athletes from across the county took part in the first Kent U11 Sportshall Decathlon at The Stour Centre, Ashford on Sunday 25th November.
The athletes competed in 10 events each over a period of two hours, and points were awarded on performance in each event.
