Durham City Harriers are celebrating after receiving the certificate which confirms their successful re-accreditation. Andy Billett, Club Chair said, "I am delighted that England Athletics and Sport England have recognised the high quality sporting environment that Durham City Harriers offers."

14.Sep.11 QuadKids at Blaydon Harriers & AC
Blaydon Harriers & AC held their first inter-club Quadkids competition recently as an end of season finale for the Under 11’s group. A group of 15 young athletes turned out to take part in the four events of 75m, 600m, howler throw and long jump.

12.Sep.11 Coaches Physically Prepared for winter planning
0th September saw the first LCDP winter workshop take place in Gateshead. The 3 hour event mixed theory and practical to give the 15 coaches in attendance a platform to plan and integrate physical preparation into their club training sessions.

The Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Northern Athletics Officials Association takes place on 2nd October. At the AGM the members elect the Association Committee for the coming year and are always looking for new blood to bring fresh ideas to the Association.

The final Gateshead Harriers/QuadKids Summer Grand Prix meeting for 8 -11 year old boys and girls was held on 7 August.

17.Aug.11 NOTAN's Summer Grand Prix competitions continue to be a success
NOTAN’s (North of Tyne McCain Athletics Network) summer grand prix continued through the summer following a great first event. After the first competition the weather seems to have been on our side with fine conditions for the competitions on the 30th July and 13th August.
