On Tuesday May 18th, Sedgefield Harriers will be hosting a recruitment evening to encourage more parents/carers, athletes and people from the local community to offer assistance in helping the club achieve its aims.

The England Athletics Award programme, Sponsored by Heidsieck & Co. Monopole Champagne, saw volunteers from across the North East recognised for the contribution they give to the sport.

24.Feb.10 South Shields Harriers and Athletics Club gain ClubMark
South Shields Harriers and Athletics Club were presented their Clubmark Certificate by Local CCSO Emma Williams. Obtaining their Clubmark will help the club to continue in its development.

15.Feb.10 Level 2 Endurance Officials Pilot Course (new date)
This course will now take place on Sunday 14 March at the Northern Athletics office in Dewsbury between 12.00pm and 3.00pm. As this is a pilot course no fee will be charged. When the course is launched nationwide there will be a fee to pay, so take this opportunity to gain a grading free of charge.

The Gateshead McCain Athletics Network was officially launched during last weeks North East indoor championships at Gateshead International Stadium.

The Aviva Sportshall Primary and Secondary County Durham Final events, run by the Sportshall Team on behalf of UK Athletics and supported by Eveque, provided some of the children their first ever competitive athletic experience and others a return to this enjoyable team based event.
