  • 16.Nov.11 Speed, Jumps and Throws LCDP to be held

    The second session of the West Midlands Local Coach Development Programme is to take place on 26th November at the Alexander Stadium for Speed, Jumps and Throws led by National Coach Development Programme Coaches and a UKA Apprentice Coach.

    26.Oct.11 Local coaches benefit from LCDP workshops

    The first in the series of West Midlands Local Coach Development Day took place at the Alexander Stadium, attracting 30 coaches with approximately 15 athletes also attending.

    There is often a huge misconception surrounding the use of Strength and Conditioning and the part it plays in physical development of athletes.  A session held by Birmingham Athletics Network aimed to dispel these myths and to explain the logic behind this element of training.

    To signal the launch of the LCDP programme for the coming twelve months England Athletics hosted three area based coaching conferences.  The Midlands and South West area conference was held at the Alexander Stadium and HiPac on Sunday 2nd October.
