To signal the launch of the LCDP programme for the coming twelve months England Athletics hosted three area based coaching conferences. The Midlands and South West area conference was held at the Alexander Stadium and HiPac on Sunday 2nd October.

The challenge of a busy competitive season did not deter the clubs within the Nottinghamshire Athletics Network from providing their junior athletes with a programme of QuadKids events over summer 2011 to develop the all-round sporting skills of their athletes.

Bourne Town Harriers in Lincolnshire, a small road running club with track and field junior section, has achieved England Athletics Accredited Club status (Clubmark).

12.Aug.11 Never too young to volunteer!
17-year-old Aidan Smith, of Ilkeston, is one of the field judges who has been provisionally selected by UK Athletics to officiate at London 2012. Aiden is one of 60 field judges of various ages who have received the provisional call-up.

Speakers' details added: England Athletics is once again holding three major coaching conferences which cover the whole country - one in each of the north, midlands and south. This year the focus of each is slightly different and is based on input from coaches in each area into what content they would like to see.

08.Aug.11 Northwood Academy of Hurdles winter session dates
Now in its 18th year, the Northwood Academy of Hurdles caters for sprints and long hurdlers in the U15-U20 age groups, offering hands-on coach development. Dates for the 2011/2012 winter season have now been released.
