    On a weekend of river pageants, celebrity concerts and royal carriage processions, a Jubilee celebration of another kind took place on Monday when Havering Mayesbrook AC hosted a QuadKids competition at Raphael Park Romford as part of the London Borough of Havering’s Diamond Jubilee Sports Festival.

    06.Jun.12 Torchbearer honour for C&C Special Olympics star

    Ten Special Olympics athletes have had the the opportunity to take part in the official London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. Included in the ten was Special Olympics GB Athletics Star Charlotte Cox, 21, of Cambridge and COleridge Athletics Club.

    Distance running star Paul Evans visited Newmarket Joggers in january as part of the England Atheltics Flying Coach initiative.  And as a result, a number of club members exceeeded their expectations in the Virgin Money Giving London Marathon recently!

    Huntingdonshire AC have successfully renewed their England Athletics Accredited Club status. A presentation was made at a recent training session by their CCSO James Cudmore to Chair Mike Hayball and Coach Penny Butcher.

    The threatened rain did not materialise and it was sunshine all the way as 38 happy, smiling young athletes aged 8 and upwards had a fun-packed morning at the Essex Athletics Network’s Try Athletics Day at the state-of-the-art Eastwood Academy track, Leigh-on-Sea on Saturday.
