Local youngsters were the very first to receive their badges for the new Aviva UKA Academy Sportshall Awards from none other than Spike, the UKA mascot. Joining Spike were George Bunner MBE - creator of Sportshall Athletics - and Kevin Hill, North of England Sportshall Development Officer.

Spectrum Striders are hosting a talk by Dr Patrick Milroy at Birchwood Golf Club on Friday 25th June 2010. In the talk, entitled 'Running Repairs' Dr Milroy will talk about his experiences as a runner, GP, Sports Injury specialist, Medical advisor to Runners World, and medical officer for many athletic events.
