Greater Sport, the Greater Manchester Sports partnership is joining forces with Dame Kelly Holmes to host a two day backing talent scheme. The days are aimed at talented athletes in the North West who have been selected to develop in the wider aspects of their athletic performance, and help them understand what it takes to be a world class performer.

The Academy has been working with young hurdlers to develop their hurdling techniques indoors at Northwood Stadium, Stoke, and is proud of its record in producing some of the finest national winning hurdlers over the 15 years of its existence.

11.Oct.09 England Athletics Hall of Fame Inductees 2009
England Athletics has honoured some of the most famous and historic names in the sport at an awards ceremony in Birmingham. Stars including Darren Campbell and Katharine Merry were present as athletes including Jonathan Edwards, Steve Backley and Noel Thatcher were inducted. Historic figures of the sport such as Harold Abrahams, Lord Burghley, Mary Rand and Ann Packer were inducted as were figures such as Ron Pickering and Malcolm Arnold for their services to the sport of athletics.

11.Oct.09 England Athletics honours volunteers in Awards ceremony
England Athletics has held its National Awards ceremony at Aston Villa Football Club to honour the sport's volunteers. Clubs, officials and coaches were among those recognised at the event held in conjunction with the 2009 Hall of Fame event.
