Even though they did not strike gold on this occasion, youngsters from the West Midlands brought home no less than eighteen medals and a plethora of personal best performances from the fourth annual UK Schools Games in Cardiff.

14 year old West Midlands athlete Feron Sayers (Wolverampton & Bilston AC) broke the British U15 Boys' Long Jump record over the weekend with a huge 7m+ leap during the ESAA Combined Events championships.
