Lee Valley athletics Centre was NOT the place to be on Sunday if you don’t like hurdles! Lea Valley Athletics Network have sponsored a series of three Sprint Hurdles Training for Young Athletes training sessions and six 300/400 Hurdles Training Days and the second day of each both occurred on Sunday at the Centre.

London beats Doha to stage 2017 World Athletics Championships. The Championships will be held in the United Kingdom for the first time .Londons bid proved to be strongest, including the ability to point to 2012 stadium and investment.

The Essex Athletics Network’s programme of event specific workshops got underway with sessions on high jump, led by Phil Sergeant, and a coach and athletes hurdles development workshop, run by Steve Mitchell and Tony Benton.

10.Nov.11 INSPIRED TO RUN!
On Sunday 9th October Young people aged 11-16 took part in the Royal Parks Foundation Pulse3K race which began in Hyde Park and heads west into Kensington Gardens. Runners followed a scenic route past the Albert Memorial and Serpentine Gallery before entering the final stretch and finishing under the main Half Marathon gantry to the cheers of the crowd.

Newham and Essex Beagles Young Athlete Wendy Zadigue is voted Deputy Young Mayor of Newham. A total of 10,082 young people from across Newham cast their vote and elected Wendy Zadigue as the new Deputy Young Mayor of the host borough of the 2012 Games.
