    A workshop "coaching the female endurance athlete" will take place on Saturday 21st January in Hatfield, Herts.  The workshop will host a number of expert speakers including Dr. Cath Spencer-Smith, Carolyn Plateau and Jeremy Freeman.

    Clubs from across the Region have been taking part in Virtual Competition using the Sportshall Award Scheme as a training night activity to prepare for County Leagues and also for the opportunity to be crowned East Regional Virtual Champions.

    The 2011 Sportshall season got off to a flying start with the first of three Sportshall fixtures run by the Essex Athletics Network.  A frantic and often noisy two-hours of competition, flawlessly coordinated by Sportshall Organiser Adam Burgess, certainly whetted the appetite of all concerned.

    17.Oct.11 Paul Evans inspires Peterborough athletes

    Olympic fever was raised another notch as double Olympian Paul Evans came to visit and inspire runners in the city.  Paul, who reached the 10,000-metre finals in the 1992 and 1996 Olympics, came to Peterborough on Tuesday and met youngsters at school running clubs.

    24 coaches recently attended a Youth Development workshop in Ipswich. The session was organised by the Suffolk Essex Athletics Network and the coaches came from clubs across Suffolk and North Essex.
