Jessica Ennis, the golden girl of British athletics, is set to compete at the Loughborough European Athletics Permit meet (LEAP) on Saturday, July 7. It will be the 26-year-old heptathlete’s final event before her attempt win a gold medal at the London 2012 Olympics.

The past quarter has been a busy one for Nottinghamshire Athletics Network (NAN). The network has expanded and has run training, events and seminars for coaches, athletes, officials and volunteers with a varied programme planned for the next few months.

15.Jun.12 Athletics for all from the Lincs Athletic Network
Over 150 people took part in athletics event over the Jubilee weekend thanks to free sessions at the Bourne Festival. Lincolnshire Athletics Network offered adults and children the chance to take part in standing long jump, standing triple jump, speed trap, Hurdles and javelin on the Saturday.

29.May.12 Lincolnshire athlete wins gold in Olympic stadium
Lincolnshire Elite Athlete Programme (LEAP) athlete Lee Cupit won a gold medal at the Olympic Park Stadium in London this month. Lee, 16, from Scopwick, near Lincoln, took part in the Sainsbury’s School Games 2012 from the 6th - 9th May
