    Last summer 15-year-old sprinter Kyle Powell was competing in local league fixtures for his club St.Mary’s Richmond AC...this year he was invited to compete for Great Britain in the BT Paralympic World Cup in Manchester!

    11.Jun.11 Super8 gets thumbs up in Kent

    The Super8 format has been given the thumbs up by schools in Kent.  Super 8 is the new format being promoted by England Athletics for secondary schools, with teams of eight boys and eight girls competing over eight events and with the scores of all the athletes added together to give the team score.

    UKWL HHH KingstonThe weekend saw two great team performances from the Herne Hill men’s and women’s national league teams. The women's team went from strength to strength and on a day where sunshine turned to rain at Kingsmeadow, but the wind had for once dropped, our team simply blew away the opposition in our opening UK Womens League match with a dominant win from the start to the end of the afternoon.

    In just two years Yeovil Olympiads have expanded their provision for local disabled athletes across all event areas. Starting with students from the local college and a small county competition, the club is a thriving hub for athletes via Playground to Podium and word-of-mouth.

    07.Jun.11 British athletes do well in South African ultra event

    The Comrades Marathon is an extraordinary back-to-back marathon format race; 18,000 athletes entered the race this year - making it the world’s largest ultra-marathon event.  England Athletics partially funded Lizzy Hawker, Susan Harrison and Ian Sharman to gain valuable experience in major championships.
