    24.Sep.10 Londoners respond to the Run in England call

    An appeal for more volunteers to become Run in England leaders in London has met with a fantastic response.   Within a week of alerting the capital that there were subsidised leadership training courses on offer, 10 new people signed up to the project.

  • 24.Sep.10 Y&H Endurance Programme announced

    The first Endurance session of the winter will take place on Saturday 2nd October in Leeds.  Led by Brian Scobie with guest speaker Peter Elliott, this workshop will provide coaches with planning principles to enable them to plan the winter programme

    22.Sep.10 ‘On Camp with Kelly’ athletes qualify as coaches

    Eighteen talented young athletes who are part of the ‘On Camp with Kelly’ mentoring and education initiative took part in coaching courses delivered by England Athletics.  With 17 participants being female, the initiative contributing towards targets of increasing females in the coaching workforce.

    Over 50 athletes and coaches from Kent and South London recently got the opportunity to discover just why Camber Sands on the Kent / East Sussex border is an ideal venue for resistance training for endurance athletes.

    Lea Valley McCain Athletics Network held its first Disability Workshop this week, which was a great success. The event was attended by a broad spread of interested coaches, team managers and officials hailing from all 4 member clubs and also a LVAC volunteer, who all wanted to find out more about disability athletics.

    Benke Blomkvist and Henk Kraaijenhof have been added to the impressive roll call of speakers for the 2010 European Sprints and Hurdles Conference, hosted by UKA, England Athletics and the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund at the Radisson Edwardian Heathrow Hotelin London on 13/14 November.
