    31.May.10 Conditioning and Physical Preparation for the Developing Athlete

    Charnwood AC are hosting a Coach Development Workshop on Conditioning and Physical Preparation for the Developing Athlete.  This workshop will be led by certified strength and conditioning specialist Pete McKnight who will give helpful advice on how to carry out conditioning exercises whilst at track side or at home with limited or no equipment.

    The "Run, Jump, Throw" Community Athletics Activator Resource is now on sale from England Athletics at a cost of £14.99.  The Resource offers ideal preparation for those wishing to support, officiate or coordinate an informal activity or short form competition event in their school, neighbourhood, or community youth project.

    A number of training sessions to take your road running to the next level have been organised for those in the Kent/ South East London area.  Presenter Janice Moorekite is a Level 4 endurance coach and her sessions will focus on training ideas for senior club athletes.

    24.May.10 Volunteering takes centre stage in Sedgefield

    On May 18th over 20 people from within the club and local community gathered at Ceddesfeld Hall in Sedgefield for a 2 hour evening dedicated to volunteering.

    UKA have released, in partnership with England Athletics, the Athlete Development Model. This incredibly useful document will be backed up with a series of resources which are beginning to be released.

    20.May.10 National Championships - Free entry scheme

    Winners of area titles at the Northern, Midlands and Southern Championships will be eligible to receive a free entry for the National Championships. Everyone who wins a senior title at one of the area events will have a free entry into that event at the England Athletics Senior Championships to be held on 17 and 18 July, subject to their having met the entry standard.
