    Goldie SayersFirst throw of the Javelin competition and defending champion Christina Obergföll of Germany speared the turf in Stockholm at 66.22 metres - a world leading mark for 2011. But Goldie Sayers (Coach: Dan Pfaff, Belgrave Harriers) was next up and the Olympic fourth placer hit one of her best throws ever with 64.31m.

    This weekend sees the Senior and U20 championships across our three tri-regions.  Don't forget that winners of each event get free entry to the England Athletics Senior and Parallel Success Championships being held in Bedford on 16th and 17th July, and prior to that are the England Athletics Aviva U23/U20 Championships and European Trials on 25th-26th June.

    The QuadKids movement continues to move forward with another outstanding network event hosted by Highgate Harriers. Mother Nature loses (again) versus Highgate Harriers QuadKids. The wind huffed, the wind puffed, and the wind blew as hard as it could but it could not put 80 children off their QuadKids athletics mission.

    Katie Snowden (Herne Hill Harriers)Katie Snowden sets a new club senior record in the 800mHerne Hill Harriers' Katie Snowden has set a new club senior and under 20 women’s record in the 800m event recording a time of 2.05.26 at the British Milers Club Grand Prix meeting on 11 June. The young athlete saw off the opposition in some style winning the race by almost two seconds against a very decent field.
