The North of Tyne Athletics Network (NOTAN) will be hosting a disability athletics participation and training day for the North East on Sunday 12th February for athletes with any disability.

14.Jan.12 Tri-Schools indoor disability competition 11th January at Lee Valley Athletics centre
On Wednesday 11th January, Lee Valley Athletics Centre hosted a new format of disability competition. 3 special schools took part, each entering 2 competitors in each event. The format for the event was devised by Yvonne Jacobs, working in conjunction with the ability project for North London and Lea Valley Athletics network, whose clubs provided all of the senior officials.

14.Jan.12 EDM Play Day and disability officiating training 19th Feb
Precision Athletics are running the first of their popular "Play Days" in 2012 next month. Officials can get to grips with EDM equipment in an informal setting. This year there will also be a limited number of spaces for practical disability officiating training (this part now full).

12.Jan.12 Inclusive Super8 Guidance and Scoring Spreadsheet
England Athletics and its partners QuadKids are pleased to announce new guidance and points scoring spreadsheets for inclusive Super8 competitions. This development is part of England Athletics commitment to provide better competition opportunities for disabled athletes and is part of our School Games offer for all young people.

Volunteers, Councillors and regional representatives met at the Holiday Inn in Kensington, London recently to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of this year’s South East Regional Volunteer Awards.
