The Notts McCain Athletics Network throws academy has been established and is being coordinated by Paul Gair with the support of Lee Peters and Jim Edwards. All three are experienced throws coaches and are keen to help raise the standard of throws events at all the clubs in Nottinghamshire.

28.May.11 BUCS Outdoor Athletics Championships to be test event for Olympic Stadium
British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) and The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) have been working together over the last twelve months to establish the BUCS Outdoor Athletics Championships as a test event for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

27.May.11 Children with Coordination Difficulties Course
The South Yorkshire McCain Athletics Network are hosting a coach development course on 29th June. The workshop aims to give coaches an insight into the motor difficulties of mainstream school children with Coordination Disorders, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome and ADHD.

27.May.11 Super 8 Athletics comes to South London
Battersea Park was the venue for the first Super 8 South London McCain Athletics Network Competition of the season. Super8 is based on 8 events (4 track & 4 field) and 2 relays. Teams are made up of 8 boys & 8 girls with each athlete doing one track event, one field event and a relay.
